Photoshop vs. Illustrator

I did two of the same drawings in Illustrator and Photoshop, just to see how different they would come out in the end.

Some New Artwork

I do realize that this doesn’t fit everyone that uses Illustrator, but hope it can help some.

Note that this is my alternate youtube account.

My Zagg protection, Cintiq 21ux, Cintiq 12wx, and Ergotron LX Arm

So, I have a Cintiq 21ux and recently purchased a Cintiq 12wx. I know just like the next person, that you want to protect your expensive investment. I look all over the best screen protector for my equipment and ended up with Zagg. The protector are very durable in strength and come with a great warranty if anything was to happen to them. Also, when using the protective cover, it has saved my nib on my classic pen. I have been using the same nib for over 2 years now. I’m not saying that everyone will have to same experience as me though.  The downside of the Zagg protector, is the texture of it. When I first started using the screen protector, the pen would stick to the film and not drag across the screen. What I ended up doing, was coating the screen with liquid turtle wax. It helped with the grabbing of the pen, along with giving it a good shine. Also, just a heads up. I was going to purchase my Cintiq 12wx on Ebay, but found out from the rep. that they don’t warranty them. Ebay is considered a 2nd hand store and the Wacom warranties don’t follow the product. So, even if it is brand new, Wacom considers it 2nd hand.

Along with the purchase of the Cintiq 12wx, I picked up a Ergotron monitor arm for my 21ux. When I first set it, I was nervous that it would fall and destroy the Cintiq. After adjusting the tension screws, I can fell happy on how it is set. I’m not going to say it increased my work flow, but it does make working a lot more comfortable.

Cital Birth

Here is my latest illustration “Cital Birth”.

The Becoming

Here is my new piece, “The Becoming”. I have been getting more in detail with the shading, guess I noticed a lot of my work was bland and wanted to change things up a bit.

Holy Fun Time

I think this is one of the few illustrations I put more work into recently in Illustrator. I spent more time on the shadowing and some smaller details compared to my others and learned a few things. One thing that people should know, is that I do all my flat coloring with the live paint bucket, then expand it and do the shading and effects from that. I don’t draw each path by itself and layer them.

New Character Design Video of Smoking Diamond

Here is a new video I recently did of a smoking diamond. As much stuff as I make with a smoke in hand, I am going to make a smoking series.

New Character Design- Dirty Rabbit

Here is a new video of a rabbit character I made in Adobe Illustrator called “Dirty Rabbit”

I am building a store

So, I am finally getting the ball rolling. I picked up a theme for the shop and working my hardest to learn some html coding to change somethings up a little. For the most part, I am happy with the color, but what to make it a little brighter. The store is gonna be setup on Big Cartel and am pretty stoked about getting the thing finally setup. The best part, it will let you finally get some shirts with my art on it. Not only do you see it made on youtube, you will actually be able to wear it.
